(RATIONALITY) Human Nature and Rational Norms: Features of the Idea of "Sociality"; (EXTERNALISM) Wittgenstein and Peirce on inner experience
Rosa M. Calcaterra is Associate Professor with tenure of Hermeneutics at the University of Piemonte Orientale (Vercelli). She graduated in 1971 at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, where she was Ricercatore¹ ( Research and Teaching Assistent with tenure) in Moral Philosophy and in Theoretical Philosophy ( 1974-1992 ). Then she have been teaching Philosophy at University "Roma Tre", ( 1992-1998) and Social Ethics at L.U.M.S.A. of Rome ( 1995-1998 ). One of her research interest is American pragmatism: she is the author of "Interpretare l¹esperienza. Scienza metafisica etica nella filosofia di Ch. S. Peirce" ( Ianua 1989 ), "Introduzione al pragmatismo americano" ( Laterza, 1997 ), "Il pragmatismo americano" ( La Nuova Italia, forthcoming ) and she also published a number of articles on Mead, James, Dewey and Peirce. Her areas of specialisation include philosophy of knowledge and of language, ethics, social philosophy ( "Ideologia e razionalità. Saggio su Jürgen Habermas", Gangemi 1994 ) and philosophy of psychology.
