Joseph Esposito received his Ph.D in Philosophy from New York University in 1970 and has taught philosophy at State University of New York at Binghamton, and Bradley University. He has been a contributing editor of the "Writings of Charles S. Peirce" (Vol. 1) Among his books are "Schelling's Idealism and Philosophy of Nature," "Evolutionary Metaphysics: The Development of Peirce's Theory of Categories" and "The Transcendence of History." He has also published numerous articles in philosophy, including a number on Peirce and semiotics.
