Sandra B. Rosenthal is Provost Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Loyola University, New Orleans. She has published approximately 175 articles and 11 books, among the most recent books being Speculative Pragmatism, Charles Peirce's Pragmatic Pluralism, and Time, Continuity, and Indeterminacy: A Pragmatic Engagement With Contemporary Perspectives. She has presented about 150 professional papers and lectures in the U.S. and abroad, and has given invited formal lecture series on American pragmatism in China, Poland, and Germany. Her lectures in China were translated into Chinese and published there as a book. She presented an invited lectureseries at the first Summer Institute of American Philosophy, held in 1998 and again in 1999, and was an invited major session speaker at the 1998 Meeting of the World Congress of Philosophy. She has served as president of The Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy, The Charles Peirce Society, The Metaphysical Society of America, The Southern Society for Philosophy and Psychology, and The Southwestern Philosophical Society; on the executive committee of the American Philosophical Association, Eastern Division and the American Catholic Philosophical Association; on the Council of the International Exchange of Scholars for selection of Senior Fulbright Awards, and on the National Endowment for the Humanities Panel for selection of NEH grant recipients. She is currently on the advisory board of the Academie du Midi, the board of officers of SOPHIA, and the board ofofficers of the Peirce Foundation. She is a member of the editorial board of the journals: The Journal of Speculative Philosophy, Studies in American Philosophy, Transactions of the Charles S. Peirce Society: A Quarterly Journal in American Philosophy, Southwest Philosophy Review, Lingua Ac Communitas, and History of Philosophy Quarterly; the book series: <Frontiers in Philosophy> with Prometheus Books, <Studies in American and European Philosophy> with Penn State University Press, <American Philosophy> with Fordham University Press, and <Studies in Pragmatism and Values> with Rodopi Press.
